Central London Stop the War Coalition Group


The Central London Stop the War group was formed in March 2010 with the aim of bringing to an end the illegal UK/US war in Afghanistan and preventing future wars. The group organises a number of events in Central London including public meetings and demonstrations as well as working with the wider Stop the War Coalition.

Please look at our past Events section to see the range of events we have organised and been involved with. Stop the War Central London has organised and taken part in many demonstrations, vigils and public meetings around London and the UK.

Monday 5th December: Don't Attack Iran Public Meeting


Hundreds gathered in Conway Hall in London on the 5th December for a meeting entitled “Don’t Attack Iran”. Speakers at the event were Tony Benn, Abbas Edelat from the campaign against sanctions and military intervention in Iran, Lindsey German, Shirin Shafaie from SOAS, Darren Johnson from the Green Party, and George Galloway. Tuesday 12th July: 'Stop the Bombing of Libya' Demonstration

The Stop the War Coalition called a protest on Tuesday 12th July at Parliament Square to call for an end to the ongoing NATO bombing of Libya.

Friday 25th February: 'United we Stand' Demonstration

Stop the War Central London joined the 'March for the Alternative' on 26th March 2011. Below are some photos of the event, attended by approximately half a million people. For more information, please see the "Past Events" section of this website.
